So many of us are used to putting ourselves last. You’ve spent enough time adapting, coping, pushing through, and doing what needed to be done. The Self-Trust EMDR Intensive flips that script and gives you permission to pause all of that for something different: protected time that’s intentionally yours.
We’ll explore the experiences and survival patterns that have shaped the way you move through the world - and begin crafting something different. We’ll follow your nervous system rather than forcing a timeline, making room for insight, processing, and the possibility of change that actually reaches beyond the therapy room.
No racing. No forcing. No gold star for suffering through it.
You don’t have to become someone new. Sometimes the magic isn’t doing more. It’s finally having the space to do the work differently.
What if you stopped squeezing healing into the leftover space?
An EMDR Intensive is an opportunity to step away from the pace of everyday life and give your healing the time and attention it deserves. Instead of trying to fit meaningful work into a single hour before returning to the demands of everyday life, you’ll have the opportunity to slow down, stay present with the process, and allow your mind and nervous system the space they need to create lasting change.
Our work will be focused and intentional. It’s designed to help you move forward - and go deep - without feeling rushed. We’ll take breaks, check in often, and move thoughtfully through our time together. This isn’t about pushing through or doing more - it’s about creating the time and space for deeper healing to unfold.
The Self-Trust Intensives: Therapy with room to breathe.
Not the sparkly, wave-a-wand-and-everything-is-fixed kind of magic. The quieter kind. The kind that happens when your brain finally has enough space to process something differently. When a memory loses some of its charge. When a belief you’ve carried starts to loosen. When you realize you responded to something differently than you would’ve six months ago.
The Self-Trust Intensive gives us the time to create those conditions. We’ll move with intention, follow your nervous system’s lead, take plenty of breaks, and stay curious about what emerges. You’ve spent enough of your life rushing, performing, over-functioning, and pushing through. We’re not going to make healing another thing you have to perform perfectly. We’re giving it room to work.
Let’s make some room for the magic to happen
We might work with
The people-pleasing reflex because “no” shouldn’t feel like a four-alarm emergency
Perfectionism because “good enough” shouldn’t feel like a failure
Anxiety, overwhelm and overthinking because your brain deserves an off switch sometimes
Trauma and difficult experiences because the past shouldn’t get to run the show forever
Self-worth and self-trust because you deserve to believe in yourself
Relationships and attachment because connection shouldn’t require abandoning yourself
Life transitions and burnout because you can change your mind about what you want
Living in survival mode because constantly bracing for what’s next is exhausting
Healing doesn’t begin the moment your intensive starts, and it doesn’t end when you walk out the door. From our first conversation to our follow-up session, my goal is to help you feel supported, prepared, and never alone in the process or wondering what happens next. Every intensive is personalized to you, your goals, and your nervous system. While no two experiences look exactly the same, here’s what you can expect.
Your intensive, from first hello to what comes next.
Everything begins with a free 20-minute phone consultation.
Before we talk about EMDR, we talk about you. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you here, what you’re hoping will feel different, answer your questions, and determine whether an EMDR Intensive feels like the best fit for your goals. If it does, we’ll start building your plan together.
We start with a conversation
We’re not going to walk through the door and immediately dive into the deepest thing you’ve ever experienced.
Before your intensive, you’ll receive a customized preparation workbook to reflect on your experiences, identify what you’d like to work on, and get curious about what you want from this experience. We’ll then meet for a 90-minute preparation session to review your workbook, strengthen coping skills, answer questions, and create a clear focus.
We prepare thoughtfully, not hurriedly.
Most EMDR Intensives include 3-hour sessions on three consecutive days, although we’ll tailor the schedule to fit your needs and goals. Each session begins by checking in, reviewing your focus, and making sure your nervous system feels ready for the work ahead.
And no, you will not be expected to sit for three hours and stare into the emotional abyss. We’ll take breaks, stretch, move around, have a snack, journal, or get some water — whatever helps you stay grounded and connected to yourself.
We create space for deep, focused work
Your intensive may end, but your brain and nervous system aren’t necessarily finished with the work. Afterward, I encourage you to keep your schedule as light as possible, prioritize rest, eat, hydrate, and lean on supports.
You may feel tired or emotionally drained. Whatever you choose, healing doesn’t stop when the intensive ends. Your mind and body keep integrating what you’ve experienced.
Give yourself time to land
About two weeks after your intensive, we’ll meet for a 90-minute follow-up session. We’ll get curious about what happened during and after the intensive — what’s shifted, what’s feeling different, and what’s still unfolding.
We’ll celebrate the changes you’ve noticed, talk about what comes next, and make a plan that feels supportive for wherever you are in your journey.
We make sense of what changed
One of the biggest misconceptions about EMDR Intensives is that they’re about cramming in as much processing as possible. Nope. That’s not how I work.
I’m not interested in seeing how much you can endure. I’m interested in helping you feel safe enough to go where you’re ready to go. We’ll slow down, take breaks, change direction, and listen when your nervous system says, “whoa, that’s enough for today.”
And through it all, you won’t be doing this alone
Weekend/Evening Intensive: $4,500
We’ll review your history, build your plan, strengthen coping resources, and identify your focus for the intensive.
90-minute pre-intensive session
If you’re plans change, you’re welcome to reschedule as long as you give at least two weeks’ notice. Your new intensive date must take place within three months of your original appointment.
If you cancel within two weeks of your scheduled interview, the full intensive fee is due.
I know life doesn’t always cooperate with our plans. This policy simply allows me to offer some flexibility when I can while protecting the dedicated time I’ve set aside for your care.
Because healing is enough to think about, I want the logistics to be simple and transparent. A 50% non-refundable deposit is due when your intensive is booked and reserves your dates. The remaining 50% is due the morning of your first intensive session.
The Self-Trust Intensives are private-pay and are not covered by insurance. Insurance does not reimburse any portion of the intensive.
And because life happens… an intensive requires me to reserve several consecutive blocks of time specifically for you. That means these appointments require a little more planning than a single therapy session, and they’re much harder to fill last minute.

Your intensive includes
You Might Be Ready If…
You’re ready to feel different, not just understand yourself better.
You want to create meaningful momentum instead of starting over each week
You’ve been waiting for the “right time” to focus on yourself and you’re ready to make that time now
You’re ready to stop surviving and start living differently
You’ve reached a point where coping isn’t enough anymore
You’re ready to dedicate focused time to yourself instead of squeezing healing into an already full life
You’ve been saying, “I know why I do this, but I still can’t seem to change”
Let’s make the unknown feel a little less overwhelming
You've gotten really good at coping. You're the capable one. The one that pushes through, keeps the peace, and figures things out on your own. And...coping isn't the same thing as feeling good in your life. Therapy can be a place to get curious about what you've learned to carry, try something different, and discover what happens when you don't have to do everything the hard way.
